Hi everyone! I just started writing my first fan-fiction. I've been writing for almost ten years, usually short stories or poetry. I thought I'd try my hand at fan-fiction, hoping it will help me to work on my novel writing skills. : ) I'd love some readers, especially with reviews! Thank you!

Title: Breathing in Sequence.
Category: Twilight Fan-fiction; Books.
Disclaimer: I do not own anything Twilight-related; I am just a fangirl.
Rating: Mature. For "questionable" themes.
Summary: Picking up in the hospital after Bella is lured into the dance studio, we find that it was actually Laurent who attacked her. Crushed by his inability to be better for Bella, Edward retreats into himself until he finally leaves Bella alone in the woods, hoping that she will be able to go back to a normal life. But as even Edward once said, he is not always the most dangerous thing in those woods. Struggling to come to terms with herself and her life, Bella searches for something, anything. Distancing herself from friends and family, Bella seems doomed to a life of empty loneliness. That is, until she runs in to the last person she would have expected.
Pairings: Laurent+Victoria. A/J. C/E. R/E. I won't say who Bella is with. :P
Author's Notes: Please read and review! I'd love to get some feedback. Also, this fic may have some ethically questionable content; and that in no way means i support/condone/etc the actions. It is simply part of the plot, and if you are okay with that than please feel free to read. : ) Also, in order to read the chapters you need to "join" the community. It's hardly a community though, it's entirely my fanfiction and I'm the only one with posting access. It's open membership & all that.

readerjack.com is looking for writers!

is an internet publisher where all authors can publish their work in ebook format. Authors maintain 100% ownership of their work, each ebook is copyright protected and assigned an ISBN, and authors receive royalties for each book sold.

Most publishers won't take a chance on new authors. JK Rowling's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was refused by 11 publishers before the 12th said they would publish her book. Now she's one of the most well-known writers in the world. What if she had not submitted it the 12th time?

readerjack.com publishes all authors, and gives them the opportunity to have their work recognized. Authors retain 100% ownership of their work, and are free to market it however they choose. readerjack.com has made it possible for authors to get published and expose their work in a way no other publisher has before. We're currently holding a poetry contest, as well as a Halloween short story contest. More information is available at our Livejournal community, readerjack_lj or at our website.

Hey there, just starting out and working on an extended project. I write fantasy, with a realistic edge to it.

The premise:

The diary of a trainee, or side-kick as he learns what it means to be under the shadow of a hero and where his place in the world is. Marty is a recently graduated soldier training under an Ordinator, named Gracon, who is a decorated warrior.

First of all, while we are slightly changing the alternative book idea: If you would rather do the book as orignially suggested please email us with your address and we will send you additional information and start the Alternate Book Project as originally suggested. (We already have several people interested in this idea so we will still do this if you are interested in this project. :) )

If you would like to participate in both projects that is welcome as well. An update on the Alternate Book Project would be provided this week. :)

Information about the new project: The Pages Project.

Due to the enormous response and interest in this project we are contemplating an alternative idea to our original suggestion.

We're thinking that each person could mail to us their work, page or pages (any size, shape, color, anything they desire) and we will scan the pages as they arrive and post them. Creatively this allows you to use any media or medium that you want that can still be bound into a book. You can use notecards, any kind of paper, you could make a collage, or even make your own paper. 81/2 x 11 or smaller is recommended for binding reasons.

Since anybody could be sending us pages at anytime your identity will remain anonymous. We will give you our address so it will be both the mailing and return address. That will make it less expensive and faster.

Then at the end we will send everyone a complete pdf file of the project. Of course all the pages will be scanned on the livejournal anonymously and anybody can give feedback on each individual page. We will still assemble and bind the pages into a hardcover book if people are interested in having a copy of the book we will still do that for the cost of producing the book. (This way everyone would have a final copy either in the form of the pdf file or in the form of an actual book).

Based on the number of people already interested, alloting just ten days apiece for production time not counting mailing time it would be a year and a half before there was a final product if we followed the original plan. The final product would be a hard bound book.

We think people would like to see the work sooner. Also the people at the end of the book would not receive the book for an entire year or more.

For the first publication of the Pages Project the deadline is June 6th 2005.

If you are interested in being a part of the Pages Project please comment with your email address included and we will send you our address.

This would be an ongoing project so people who are newly interested can email us at midnight_confessions248 @ yahoo.com at anytime.

If you would rather do the book as orignially suggested please email us with your address and we will send you additional information and start the Alternate Book Project as originally suggested.

If you would like to participate in both projects that is welcome as well. An update on the Alternate Book Project will be provided this week. :)

In this post I am promoting my community.

It is a journalling community whose focus is on alternative journalling books, that are sent to members for their contributions and then mailed to the next person. Anonymity will be preserved in every way possible. The purpose of the books is to provide people with an outlet by which they can voice their fears, desires, secrets, experiences, whatever they feel they can't normally share with people. This idea is loosely based on Post Secret (http://postsecret.blogspot.com/). There will be a minimum of two books circulating through the member pool so that it will be impossible for people to know who they received their book from or who they are sending it to. A place to be truly human, NOTHING, is off limits.

"Ode to a Mannequin"

Standing guard
In the window.
Dressed up
To match the old-fashioned
moviehouse facade
Of the sign store.

Her nametag proclaims:
Was it made just for her?
One delicate hand resting
next to the tickets

Staring blankly through cat's eye glasses,
   Through the reflection
Of blind-windowed cars

Dress stained
hair mussed
Ready to animate, run
If given a shawl and hat.

Beautiful in her frozen moment
From her noisy life
And rendered noiseless
Dimly recalling
the last existence
and losing more of it

"Upon Arriving in Newark"

We swooped in over a river
I don't know what river--
It was brown and hemmed by smokestacks.
24,000 comedy routines on Jersey
Flashed before my eyes
And I believed them.

The "Welcome to Newark--America's
RENAISSANCE city!" sign
Was juxtaposed with a grimed and graffitied stone overpass
The irony was not subtle.

Sinking into the deep blue seats of the taxi
Bridge sides high enough to prevent seeing
That River
The blown-out factory windows leered at me
And I glimpsed how people become desperate.

Looking Out the Hospital Window
(x-posted like a mofo)

(Shameless advert: I have a chapbook for sale for $5. IM ThePeculiarGirl or e-mail quinn@tmbg.org to place an order.)

Standing naked at the hospital window
and looking out at the nightscape
seven stories down
the street spread below me
like a freshly laundered blanket and
dotted with cars
wondering where everyone had to be at
two a.m.

Standing naked at the hospital window
and looking down at the nightscape
you were a million miles away.

Hi, you may remember me as slfcllednowhere. Or you may not, whatever. Anyway, this is massively x-posted as usual, apologies if you have to see it a bunch. Comments welcome and appreciated.

No one is alive at 5:37 a.m.
Only the occasional passing car reminds me
That I am not the sole occupant of this landscape
--still alien after three months
Which hovers under the pre-dawn sky
(That peculiar shade of light grey almost imperceptibly tinted blue
Which never comes to Texas.)

I have endured another of a string of sleepless nights
(Because of you, as is everything)
To find myself here, a default early riser.
I relish the secrecy the solitude grants me
This morning belongs to me alone.

Last night's silent storm
Has left behind a chill in the air and the dull smell of wet earth.
I twitch my cold fingers and systematically observe
My own fraction of the infinite catalogue of details:
A thousand birdsongs, only the crow's familiar.
Smoke billowing from the greenhouse chimney.
Sidewalk chalk proclamations, eerily waterproof.
The ducked heads of flowers ashamed at their own beauty.

My legs stiffen as I run home
Startled to find myself so inspired
By something as obvious as a spring morning.

Imperial Beach

By the time she ran onto
the beach the egg yolk
sun was already slithering
all quiet on the western sky
but still glowing dandelion
and orange. The ridges of
water were pulling back
and dropping themselves and
the mountains behind were guarded
by a lifeless full moon. Thoughts
only of mind snapshots to be
carefully filed and tall phantom
men who might not be far away.
She passed pier walkers tallying
evening's fishing and watched the
warmness drain from the sky. Kids
scuffled in the sand. She gave up
on deciding if the melting lights
across the water were San Diego
or Mexico. By now even the
surfers have put their shoes
on and gone to bed. No one
shares the beach with the
gulls but sandy nuzzling
couples and the would-be suicide.
